IPOB: Nigerian Govt Planning To Eliminate Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyers, Others
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has claimed that there is a clandestine plan by the Nigerian government to eliminate lawyers representing their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
This was contained in a statement signed by IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful on Friday.
“We wish to warn the whole world about the evil plot of the frustrated Nigerian government to secretly eliminate our resistant lawyers, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor; and attorney Aloy Ejimakor for his committed efforts in defending our leader who was handed over from Kenya.
-------------------
"The Nigerian government is unhappy with the experience and professional prowess of these veteran attorneys and other members of the legal team in deflating the fabricated charges against our leader, hence their plan to remove them," the part reads.
IPOB also alleged that “this covert plan extends to the removal of Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu, Bright Chimezie Ishinwa, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, David Nwawuisi, as well as various State Coordinators are on their removal list transmitted by the Nigerian government to their security agencies.
“The Nigerian government intends to carry out this targeted elimination through security personnel deployed to the southeast under the guise of Operation Golden Dawn to do the dirty work.
"The compromised security agents have decided to eliminate Nnamdi Kanu's lawyers once they enter any part of the southeast."
He also warned that “the southeast continues to be our ancestral home and we cannot flee because we have not committed any sacrilege in our land.
"Anyone who plans to kill us will fight with the spirit of our ancestors and the spirit that Biafraland possesses."
Yesterday, Ejiofor claimed that the Department of State Services (DSS) denied the British Consul and Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife access to their client on Thursday.
